What Should I Say Today?

Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor:  If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.  But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. ~Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

“It’s blog day!  What am I going to write about?  Do I have anything important to share?  When will I find the time write today?”  These are some fairly common thoughts for me on the day I attempt to string words together in a manner that brings meaning to you, my valued readers.

I have been writing this blog for six months now and sometimes I know exactly what I want to say.  There are other times, however, when I have no idea what I will write about.  Today was one of those days, but, as often happens when I am struggling for a topic, I whisper a prayer for guidance and the words come.  God has blessed me over and over again with words that I believe He wants me to share.

Sometimes a passage of Scripture captures my attention.  Sometimes a wonderful quote jumps off a page that I am reading.  At other times a thought or question comes to mind that requires some contemplation.  There are times I am touched by an experience I have had, or intrigued by something interesting I have observed.  And sometimes I am working through a difficult chapter in my life, or celebrating a time of great joy.  No matter how the topics come, I believe they are often nudges from God—nudges to reach out to others and share what He is teaching me as we travel this journey of faith together.

Do you ever feel like God is nudging you to share part of your journey with someone else?  Do you ever feel led to share a Bible verse with a friend?  Are you open to sharing your struggles, as well as your joys, with the people in your life?  I believe God nudges all of us, and gives us the words we need, to share our journey with others—the ups and downs, the easy times and hard times, the laughter and tears, the lessons we have learned, and the lessons we are struggling to learn.  Sharing your journey can be a blessing to you and to the person, or persons, with whom you have chosen to share.  After all, according to Scripture, we are stronger together than we are alone.

I am blessed to be able to write this blog, even though it is sometimes a struggle and I don’t always feel like sitting down to write.  Why?  Because I have learned something interesting about the words God gives me.  They are words that may be just right for one or more of you, but more often than not, they are words that are important for me too.  God is teaching me through the words I write for all of you.  What an amazing gift!
