God speaks in the silence of the heart. Listening is the beginning of prayer. ~Mother Teresa
Learn to worship God as the God who does wonders, who wishes to prove in you that He can do something supernatural and divine. ~Andrew Murray
My husband brought me to the beach for the weekend. He knows it’s one of my favorite places and he seems to know that sometimes it’s exactly where I need to be. Our room has a beautiful view and as I sat on the balcony tonight, I decided to clear my mind and be still. I listened to the waves as they rolled onto shore; I watched a group of pelicans gliding silently by my balcony; I felt the ocean breeze blowing gently on my face; and I saw the full moon glistening off the water below. The evidence of our great Creator was all around.
When I was younger, I wrote several poems. I haven’t written any for a long time, but as I sat outside tonight, I was filled with inspiration. I took time to be still and listen, and these are the words I was given:
At the Beach (Written on May 17, 2019)
The beach is a place that quiets my mind;
where my spirit is renewed by the wonder I find.
I can hear God’s voice in the ocean’s song,
singing, “I am steady and I am strong.”
I can feel His compassion and amazing grace
as the gentle breeze blows across my face.
I watch the pelicans gliding on currents of air
and remember, God’s guidance is always there.
As the moonlight reflects on the rolling tide,
I see light from the One I want by my side.
In the sand, in the waves, in the stars above;
Is the evidence of our Creator’s love.
Yes, the beach is a place that quiets my mind,
where my spirit is renewed by the wonder I find.
Be blessed, my friends. I hope you can find a time and place to be still and listen.
