For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? ~Isaiah 43:19a
I am blessed to be spending some time at the beach again—my favorite place for relaxation and renewal. I enjoy sitting on the balcony, just watching and listening to the sights and sounds that surround me. I like to take longs walk along the beach, where I can feel the sand under my feet and the water rushing around my ankles. I love the sound of the ocean, and the touch of the coastal breezes on my face and in my hair. I like to watch the birds at the water’s edge, as they search for food and watch the waves at the same time. And I love to watch the sunrise over the water.
I’m sitting on the balcony now as I write these words for you, listening to the sound of the waves as they crash into the shore. It’s dark now and I am feeling thankful for an amazing day—a day that began with a beautiful sunrise.
As I think about the the sun making its appearance above the horizon this morning, I’m reminded that each new day we are given is filled with many possibilities. If we pay close attention, and take time to be still in God’s presence, we can see new wonders all around us. God is always doing something new and, if we let Him, He can renew us each and every day.
I wrote another poem that I’d like to share:
As light spreads up from the horizon, the darkness fades away.
The sun rises over the ocean. It’s the dawn of a brand new day.
I sit in the early morning, gazing out toward the brightening sky,
as the rays of light stretch boldly, and the clouds roll gently by.
The ocean breeze brushes by me, and whispers softly in my ear.
I stay quiet and listen closely to a message I need to hear.
“It’s a day full of hope and promise, a day to be lived in love.
It’s a day for new beginnings, a gift from heaven above.”
I thank God for the morning wonders, that fill me with delight.
I think God for the the day before me and the chance to live it right.
I believe that my Heavenly Father, has a plan and a path for me.
I pray that He guides me daily to be the person I’m meant to be.
